Challenge Day five and having fun. I love meeting all these new people and seeing everybody else's work, good times! So, Fridays are generally a dull day on my blog cuz I don't get many visitors on Fridays cuz a good deal of my vistors find me through Illustration Friday and on Fridays they take down the weeks stuff and put up a new theme, so everybody's generally working on their new illustration and not posting or visiting a lot, so I figured I'll do something kinda dull on this Friday.
I keep seeing on lot's of people's blogs they do a kinda getting to know the blogger where they answer certain questions, but I didn't totally want to bore whoever is reading this by letting you know my favorite color or favorite food, so I'm just going to share some weird and random things about myself. I will apologize now if I gross you out. This is also counting as my art for the day cuz I made a couple quick generic illustrations.
One:
In eighth grade I got new glasses. I so desperatley wanted red ones, but when we went to the eye doctor's office all they had were these big plastic red ones which were way to big for my face (I was a little on the pip-squeaky side). This is where I made a mistake and listened to my mother. She said, "Your face will grow into them." Hey, guess what, they never did and I had those cursed glasses until the summer before my senior year in high school. I got called Sally Jesse Raphel on more than one occasion and just in case you don't know who she is, she was a daytime talk show host with large red glasses.
Oh, and by the way, I'm a bunny.
Two:
There was an actual dance off at my wedding. I'm totally serious!
Three:
This one is kinda boring, I sorry.
The Catcher inthe Rye is my ultimate, number one favorite book ever and if Holden Caufield was an actual person I'd so hang out with him if the oppurtunity ever came up.
Four:
This is where it gets gross.
I've farted in front of a large group of people (they were not related cuz then it would be kinda okay) and on more than one occasion.
Five:
In my twenties I had a if I want to do it I'm going to try it attitude which led to many interesting things inluding number six and seven. But, this attitude led me to learn how to snowboard and run around a full theater in my underwear cuz I'm a nerd and my friends and I went to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Music Show. They all said they were going to do the underwear run, but they all chickened out and just me and one my my friends ran around (he was with me when number seven happened. Oh, and there was this old skinny guy in a pair of white briefs, kinda scary. And I do apologize if I've shared too much here, you don't have to come back to my blog if you don't want to.
Six:
For my undergrad degree I went to Columbia College Chicago and cuz of my attitude I had in number five I took ballet as an elective. That semester this was my course load: Idea Development (yes, it was an actual class), drawing, fiction writing and ballet., seriously, those were my classes. Well, I have so sense of rythym or beat or whatever you call it, so in ballet class as everybody leapt in the air I was landing on the ground. I was always off and my teacher who was this little blond ballerina who was in The St. Petersburg ballet in her younger days quite often said this about my dancing, "Oh, that is so ugly!"
I looked nowhere close to as lovely as the bunny below.
Seven:
I warn against this one, don't do it! In my mid twenties I decided to drop into a ramp on a skateboard for the first time. End result: Not Good! It ended my skateboarding and snowboarding days.
Eight:
I went and saw the Winter X Games in 2003.
Nine:
Even though I'm 33 I still go by Missy.
Ten:
Last, boring and kinda obvious, but I love cute things.
So, that's it for now. There's plenty more weird and odd stuff, but I don't want my post to be too long, it's long enough already.
